What audio is recorded

Only the active Chrome tab after you start recording

Dolphin captures audio from the active browser tab after you start recording. It does not capture microphone audio and does not record your whole screen.

Where recordings are stored

Recordings are saved on your device

Audio is encoded locally and downloaded through Chrome's download manager. Local recording history may store lightweight metadata such as page title, source URL, host, duration, save time, and filename.

Uploads

Dolphin does not upload recordings

Recordings, page URLs, page titles, filenames, and recording history are not uploaded by the extension.

Invite code activation and lifetime purchase checks use a small licensing API. Those requests use a random extension-install device ID, invite or checkout status, and extension version. They are not used to upload recording audio.

Permissions

Why Chrome permissions are needed

tabCapture

Captures audio from the active Chrome tab after you start recording.

activeTab and scripting

Reads lightweight page metadata after user action for filenames and local history.

offscreen

Keeps recording and MP3 encoding running while the popup is closed.

downloads

Saves the generated MP3 through Chrome downloads.
